This small deck girder bridge crosses Ditch #94 along Iowa Highway 4, south of Wallingford.
Likely built in the mid 1890s, the structure consists of one small plate girder set onto pink quartzite stone abutments. The girder is a unique structure, and lightly built.
Commonly used to cross small streams, this bridge likely replaced a simple wooden trestle. It is possible that it could be as old as nearby stone arches, which were built in 1888.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in fair condition. The substructures of the bridge do have some issues.

The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
